The Alternative Center was founded in 2008 by Carol Peifer. \u00a0Carol is blessed with a daughter with Downs Syndrome, and it was through this blessing that her passion for this work began. \u00a0The Alternative Center’s\u00a0vision is to be a place where each person\u2019s abilities can be encouraged and strengthened through the love and commitment of our devoted staff and volunteers. \u00a0We seek to show the world what we CAN do and WHO we truly ARE! \u00a0Disability does not mean inability! \u00a0Each person’s ideas, perspectives and input is valued and integral in making our community shine!<\/p>\n\n\n
